Bynum Hosts Roundtable with Oregon Labor Leaders

Oregon City, OR – Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05) hosted a roundtable with local labor leaders at the SEIU Local 503 Portland Office, including the VA AFGE President Yvonne Angel, representatives from SEIU 503 and 49, Ironworkers Local 29, the NW Oregon Labor Council, and more. “I was raised by union members and I’m the mom of a former SEIU and UFCW member – I know firsthand that wins for labor and working families are wins for our communities,” said Rep. Bynum. “It’s important for me to hear directly from our local leaders about issues they’re facing and how I can best represent them. I was glad to join union members from Oregon’s Fifth today to discuss our continued partnership and my commitment to fighting for rights for our workforce.”
In Congress, Rep. Bynum is a member of the Labor Caucus and serves on the House Financial Services Committee. She is a cosponsor of the PRO Act, which protects the basic rights to form and join a union, holds employers accountable for violating workers’ rights, and secures free, fair, and safe union elections.
