Bynum Celebrates Over $1 Million for Albany Head Start Programs

March 31, 2026

Today, Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05) announced over $1 million in federal funding for the Community Services Consortium Head Start Project in Albany. This funding will be used for expanding early childhood education opportunities.

In January, in an effort to confront the rising economic pressures on young Americans, U.S. Rep. Janelle Bynum (D-OR) launched her signature “K-30” agenda– a platform focused on supporting young Americans by improving access to education, housing, and the job market. This funding is in line with Rep. Bynum’s work to support Oregon’s children and young families.

“My work has always been a love letter to Oregon’s children,” said Rep. Bynum. “Children deserve spaces where learning is encouraged, and every opportunity is within reach. Investments like this will help create safe, supportive environments where every child can grow, succeed, and reach their full potential. I will continue working to secure the funding our communities need to support and uplift the next generation.”
