Washington, DC – Today, after Iran launched attacks against an American air base in Qatar, Rep. Janelle Bynum (OR-05) released the following statement:

“I’m thankful that no American lives were lost today as a result of these attacks. While we must ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon, I strongly oppose another forever war in the Middle East. That’s why I’m calling on the Trump Administration to provide a clear and concrete exit plan and for a commitment that we won’t see American troops deployed. We can defend our interests and our allies in the Middle East without putting our service members in danger.”
