Congresswoman Bynum Slams Republican Shutdown

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05) made the following statement after the government funding deadline expired, sending the federal government into a shutdown:

“Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency – they own this shutdown,” said Rep. Bynum. “Now, our military will have to work without pay, you may face extra challenges accessing government services, and the economy will suffer. I came to Congress to get to work for Oregonians, but Speaker Johnson and Republicans came here to play games. I’m ready to support a budget that centers the American people.”
